Despite Governor Andy Beshear ordering all Kentucky residents to stay at home to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, some in Louisville are reportedly refusing to self-quarantine.
As a response, Jefferson Circuit Court judge Angela Bisig is ordering ankle monitors for those who were exposed to the coronavirus but who won’t stay at home.
CNN reports that Bisig ordered an individual identified as D.L. to wear a global positioning device for the next two weeks. D.L is reportedly living with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus, as well as someone who is a presumptive case.

I am sure in their own minds they are hero's for taking action, even though it is almost always a self serving political move to sell oneself to the public.
"Look everyone, I did something, I'm a great leader, vote for me!!!"
These sort of actions show the trendy/faddish, media driven, activist and political whoring nature of some of these officials. These are not the type of people you want as judges that should be rational, consistent and constitutionally based. May you be conservative or liberal, in all reality you should be seeking folks that are more professional/principled, measured, strategic (big picture) in their actions when they fill such positions.
Once this is over, and it will be sooner than most think, because like everything this is a typical American over hyped sensationalist politicized bullshit story, those officials that took such actions to rob citizens of their basic constitutional rights to promote themselves should be removed from office. If we want to turn this corona virus scare into something that has any value, use it as a litmus test for politicians and government officials.

This violates Equal Protection Clause, False Imprisonment and probably 50 other existing laws.
I hope KT has a huge budget surplus because they have no chance of winning a lawsuit challenge.
Just out of curiosity, what does Kentucky require for those folks testing positive for AIDS. Do they require them to tell folks with whom they have liberal relations about their disease?

Just like every flu that has ever come down the pike, you're either going to get it or you won't and that's up to your body's immune system. Shutting down all businesses, mandating "social distancing" (Will Websters recognize that as a new word?) ain't going to protect you, it's just going to delay the inevitable......That's just the way it is.

But anyone that knows they are exposed, should self quarantine out of consideration for other people. When they’ve been ordered to self quarantine, and don’t, Then the courts are right to take more aggressive actions including order monitoring.
Monitoring is better than throwing them in jail at the first violation.
This is a once in a century situation. It’s not the Socialist Apocalypse that every stir crazy person thinks it is. It’s a pandemic. A dangerous virus that we are still learning about.
