For many people, rats are unwanted guests in the house. But in China, they can be a delicacy on the dining table. Chinese bamboo rats, a possible coronavirus carrier, have been a sought-after food source in the country for centuries and hailed for their 'nutritional value'. Tens of thousands of farmers raised them, chefs cooked them in dozens of ways and web users celebrated '100 reasons to eat them' - until the pandemic brought the trade to a standstill.

That is a very good question. You could add "shrimp" to that too.

If you're speaking of the Chinese Communist Party: yes, barbarians in suits and ties.

They're just scapegoating these rural meat-farmers raising cultivated rats for market--- it's no worse than pigs raised for the meat industry ----because they're covering up the true origin of the CCP (Wuhan) virus: the Wuhan Virology Institute.

Don't amplify the line of the CCP.

They’re pretty disgusting. I don’t care if it is another culture. Common sense says that is a filthy animal that God never meant for man to eat.

“I do believe my days of eating Chinese food are over....LOL!”

We have been eating at the same Chinese Restaurant for over 40 years. The two young men running it now are the grand kids of the original from China Owners.

About every 4-5 years, the county health cites them for some cleanliness violations.

The food is really good. Where you eat is spotless and so is where the Chef works/cooks.

The back storage and one restroom are ????

We are about where you are re this restaurant.

I’ve unfortunately known some hillbillies that eat varmints every bit as gross as rats. Possum, raccoon, muskrat and squirrels. Americans don’t really have much moral high ground on this topic.

Demolition Man, Sylvester Stallone:

Lieutenant Huxley (Sandra Bullock): Just don’t ask where the meat comes from.
Sergeant John Spartan (Stallone): Huxley, what’s that supposed to mean?
Huxley: Do you see any cows around here?
Spartan: Que es esta carne?
Seller: Esta carne es de rata.
Spartan: Rat? This is a rat burger? Not bad. Matter of fact, this is the best burger I’ve had in years.

That’s Disney’s kiddy propaganda insisting that all cultures and cuisines are equal. Don’t give any Disney/ABC/ESPN a nickel for their miseducation goals.

“Who just said ‘LOBSTER’? I know I heard it.
Is that LOBSTER grilled, baked, boiled or what?”
