A friend of mine was given free room & board to live in a house built in 1905 if he would renovate it. Yah, that lasted about 3 months. He kept getting woken up at night by a child crying. He doesn’t have any kids and the house was out in the middle of nowhere.

The view from the top of the Inyo mountains is spectacular. At 11,000ft you have an unobstructed vista of the mighty Sierra Nevada. I guess it might get spooky but I’d give it a try.
