Millionaire Benjamin Chen destroyed his $750,000 Porsche Mirage GT supercar while driving high on drugs through the abandoned streets of downtown Manhattan, New York on Tuesday. The crash happened at around 7:30 am and the scene was captured on security camera footage as well as cell phone footage taken by onlookers who witnessed the action.

After smashing into a van in front of several bystanders, Chen attempted to drive away in his mangled car but didn’t make it very far. Police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the 33-year-old on charges of reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. It is not clear what drugs he was using at the time, as he was not charged with possession. It is likely that nothing was found on him.

Chen hit at least five unoccupied vehicles that were parked along 11th Avenue on the west side of Manhattan. He attempted to flee, but only made it to 44th street, just north of the Javits Center, where he eventually came to a stop and waited for police.

The car that Chen wrecked is a Porsche Mirage GT, which as an elite group of supercars based on the iconic Porsche Carrera GT. Only 25 of these cars exist in the entire world, and they are all fully customized to the owner’s personal specifications. It takes the company about 1,000 hours to complete each of the 25 cars.

How does he still have his license after wrecking at least 4 supercars most likely at above the speed limit? At what point does one get their license revoked FOREVER?

Looks to me that he had already lost control before veering left at the intersection and he was overcorrecting from overcorrecting.

The others may have been in the racing enterprise that he had a share of ownership in.

The other day I saw an asian woman in an suv try to cross over the opposite direction of a highway to enter a strip mall. To enter there was a traffic “triangle” forcing traffic from the opposite direction naturally to the left and traffic from that side of the highway to the right of the triangle.

As the woman entered the lanes of opposite traffic instead of simply driving straight ahead she drove 30 yards against the traffic to pull a 270 degree turn to use the entrance for traffic from the other direction.

I couldn't believe it.

Could be. Still, the dumbass had no business behind the wheel of a super car.

I doubt a street legal race car like that has ABS.

The front and back in front rear suspension consists of double wishbones with inboard spring-and-damper units, dual frontal airbags, door-mounted side airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS),and a patented crumple-zone body structure.
