Bill Maher went off on the media Friday night during his show “Real Time” on HBO, saying that they need to cut back on their “panic porn” reporting on the coronavirus or else they will end up helping President Donald Trump get re-elected.
“And finally, new rule, now that we’re starting to see some hope in all this, don’t hope shame me, you know the problem with non-stop gloom and doom is it gives Trump the chance to play the optimist and optimists tend to win American elections,” Maher began. “FDR said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. You know, as full of shit as he is, I could see Trump riding that into a second term and then there will be no hope left for you to shame.”
Maher continued by highlighting numerous headlines from The Washington Post and The New York Times that were as negative as possible about the situation.
“So look, if this insanity happens again, news sources have to rein it in,” Maher said. “Enough with ‘the life will never be the same’ headlines, and stop showing us this, you know everything looks scary when you magnified it a thousand times. Here’s a pubic hair, boo!”
“We need the news to calm down and treat us like adults,” Maher concluded. “Trump calls you fake news, don’t make him be right.”

I thought it was Maher’s idea to try to destroy the economy to stop Trump’s reelection.
Maher is an actor.
He identified the moonbat audience as the best market to exploit, he’s made millions from doing it.
But now, even his conscience has to be bothering him.

Every once in a while, Maher demonstrates a modicum of intellectual honesty.
Then he goes back to his leftist cocoon, is roundly harrumphed by fellow travelers, and returns to parroting the party line.

He is not a dumb man. The left is either outraged that Trump found hope before they did. And so in full TDS mode, they went to 24/7 fear and hopeless. Maher is right. They need to start peddling hope, no matter how faked it is and no matter how much it goes against the grain to let people have some freedom.
Naaah Bill, Trump won’t need any help from the idiots in the media to get re-elected. He’s got an army voters chomping at the bit to vote for him. His re-election will make 2016 look like a squeaker.
You guys, once again over-played your hand to the point of ridiculousness, and the people aren’t buying it this time. Plus, you guys are stupid enough to run a doddering old fool who’s probably forgotten how to tie his own shoes. You guys have set yourselves up to lose every state that you can’t massively cheat in. Much like Michael Moore was one of the few on the left who saw the impact Trump was making on the white working class in 2016. He still hated Trump and he was trying to warn the dims not to take Trump lightly like most of the MSM did in 2016 until late into election night.
