All of a sudden I'm getting redirected by Brave that Free Republic is not safe, I may be hacked, etc. I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the 'go anyway' link to get to each article I want to read. Anyone else suddenly having this problem?
Same
Its an issue they were having renewing their SSL certificate. JR had a post yesterday. Nothing to fear.
An SSL basically allows a site to prove it is what it says it is. Those need to be renewed and reinstalled periodically. They can frequently be a pain.
I have difficulty getting the FR on my RCA Pad. It almost always says the site is not available, DNS error. It does this to no other site. This is when using google. duckduckgo is fine.
They had an issue while renewing their SSL certificate:

FR had issues renewing their Security Certificate.
They’re working on getting it fixed.

I’ve noticed in past that nonsensically labeled “unsafe sites” are invariably conservative in orientation. Of course there *are* some real “unsafe sites”, but I suspect some hanky panky is going on.
It is always DNS or x509. Always.
By the way, who finally fixed the horizontal and vertical holds on the TV’s?
FRee Republic has always been UNSAFE for liberals, #NeverTrumpers, and FLeepers.
Let us keep the tradition going strong and proud!
Got it. Thanks everyone. I didn’t see the SSL post by Jim yesterday. Glad it’s just a glitch.
I got one
“Pop up”
Like that.
I got a notice from google about FR and couldn’t get in this morning.
Did the refresh cookies restart.
I finally got in by clicking on something i bookmarked from FR.
Anyhow, i think someone might have been on a phishing expedition?
When the FR logo comes up, click on the “Freerepublic.com” on the right of your screen.
FLUbers Unite!
it started yesterday with me. I have to click “go anyway” but only that one time not for every article.
