Today’s Cryptogram

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: todayscryptogram
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own. The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

Try printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

We have a fun and easy one today, Folks. Everyone should log this under 2 minutes.

This is a great one to do on paper or in your head.

If you MUST use HAL cover up the letter counter!

And yes, the second word is what you think it is.

Nice. Started with part of the contractions…

Yeah, this was easy but I struggled to do it in my head. Previously, I started to use HAL (which felt like cheating) and it must’ve made me soft so I went back to the look-and-solve method which provides an actual challenge.

I guessed the author immediately, again, but was too lazy to solve it “in my head”. The non-standard contraction made me stumble, but once you see it written out it is easy.

I regret that I was born too late, and never got to hear Jenny Lind sing nor IRVD SQRNE swear.

I couldn’t resist doing yesterday’s “in my head”. One week I did Monday-thru-Thursday that way, but fell back to using electronic aids, in my case Excel.

I was surprised to find there were no Zs in the answer...

Same with me. Hal, is more challenging if you cover the letter counter. Printing out the puzzle is the best.

I tossed and turned over this one. 5 min. Couldn’t get the 2nd word, which is where I thought you said to start.

Had to put it down for a minute...I normally don’t read ANYTHING associated with the ‘day’ ... saw the one comment about how it would ‘finish itself’, then took a minute to figure YES, they did mean #2 to be that....etc etc

If you have an olfactory problem and CAN’T smell does that mean you DON’T smell?
