When I was young I had the chicken pox. When a kid had the chicken pox, parents would send their kids over to play so that all the kids would get it.
So why not do that with COVID-19? Kids pass diseases to their families all the time, and is probably a major way to spread covid. But, as we know, few people under 30 even show symptoms. So why not set up summer camps this summer where kids can go get infected? They can be kept there for three weeks until they test negative. The camps can be staffed by adults who have already recovered from the disease. By the end of summer the kids will be ready for school, and schools will no longer be a way to spread the disease. We can even use the schools as the camps, and use their food facilities. Seems like an easy way to develop herd immunity
Send your kids to us and well send em home with Wuhan Bat Airborne AIDS! In remission of course...until ?
A lifetime of memories!
I’m for the COVID-19 camps. Then we can get people’s minds right about globull warming and how much Democrats “care” about people. There can be mandatory signing away of life-long voting for Democrats in every election, whether you are dead or not.
I like it!
Why not just send them back to school? Biggest mistake we made was closing the schools. Those kids are the driver towards herd immunity.
Until they come home and kill grandma.
Because then they would just go home and infect their parents and grandparents. They would need to be isolated for a while.
“So why not set up summer camps this summer where kids can go get infected?”
My kids will not be attending your camp.
Hello Muddah
Hello Faddah
Greetings From Camp Coronanada
LOL. That was a great song.
I dont know if your idea would work or not. But heres one thing I do know. Personal liability lawyers would love your idea.
Until they come home and kill grandma.

True...its far better to wait until November to kill grandma.
Maybe the parents should move like my parents did when they sent me to camp.
No way would I willingly infect my kids.
COVID-19 can destroy the lungs, cause heart, liver, kidney and nerve damage. There's no guarantee your kid would even survive, much less not have permanent damage.
Even if most kids do get it and recover quickly, there's no telling if this thing sets up shop in the nervous system or hides in the body somewhere until the person is stressed later or just hides out and causes chronic damage
This is a SARS type virus, hence named SARS-COV-2.
Isn’t shingles from long dormant chicken pox virus? Not a good example.
Did they leave a forwarding address!
Grandma stays isolated while the rest of us go about life. Heck we do that with the flu. If your kids are sick you dont go visit grandma. Why is this so hard for everyone to understand?
Let me ask this another way. When you were a child and you were sick did you go to grandmas house? Or did your parents decide to wait?
None of this is new to humanity. The only thing new is our massive overreaction.
Did parents who had not been exposed to chicken pox as a child send their kids to theae things?
We don’t yet know if people exposed are really immune. Most parents had had chicken pox and were immune; not the case here. When I was a lad, we had polio outbreaks. People didn’t send their children to polio camps (yes, I know it’s not the same thing, but we dont know if coronavirus isn’t different).
Some kids with health issues will die, while others will bring the virus home to susceptible adults.
