My understanding is that there are labs all over the country, and they are not really controlled by anyone.
They are working on their next plague right now.

That is just not true. There is zero reporting of this having occurred. They did destroy samples of the virus very early on, but the lab still stands, and is still open for research.

The tremendous ass-kissing to Communist China makes reading comments on Free Republic such a joy. Makes us realize where loyalties really lie.
If the USSR would have did this during the Cold War, Moscow would have already been flattened by Reagan. Yet many here want to let Communist China slide. Same FreeTraitor (TM), pro-Communist Chinese crowd that bitched and moaned last year when Trump started increasing tariffs. Inquiring minds want to know.
Probably. If you’ve got an outbreak right in a city with a good lab you keep that thing OPEN. It’s your research center. If we had a nasty in Atlanta CDC is staying open.
In any training I’ve had on Strategy, the key question on any action is, “Then What.”
You need to map out the “Then Whats” and then do it again on each one of those until you have mapped out several levels of them.
Then for each option on the “Then What” you need to assign a probability for each condition. “What is the probability of this happening and what are the probable results.”
Your map would be “Nuke one of the largest land owning countries with the largest population, and one of the largest nuclear, armed forces in the world.” Your only “then what” is “Go into the bathroom and jerk it.”
As you can see, your strategic plan is missing a few important pieces.
