Problem is, “science” and politics are one-and-the-same these days.

As long as Tucker acknowledges economics as the “Science of Money” I can agree with this!

No! “Science” is about as objective as the Obama DOJ.

Real science, not fake science, and then I might agree.

Unfortunately, these days “Science” says whatever the whoever is funding the particular particular study wants it to say.

I’d settle for a little bit of common sense driving policy.... But that’s even rarer these days than honest science.

Exactly. If it means really analyzing the data to determine tradeoffs for activities, fine. If it means worshipping a guy in a lab coat, forget it.

As a conservative, rational being, I’m not sure Tucker is right on this. Science is just one tool in man’s tool box. Patriotism, enthusiasm, determination, grit, risk taking, Constitutional principals, an understanding of economic “laws,” and religious beliefs are examples of other tools that men use to achieve great things.

Putting “science” as the most important priority and the “ring that rules them all” is simply a value judgement of Tucker’s. He might be right, but I’d want to test that before I jumped completely on board.

?Problem is, “science” and politics are one-and-the-same these days.”

Exactly, the Left has Politicized everything. The track record of those “scientists” providing guidance must be factored in. As well as their voting records. It all must be considered.
That is why the President has included a variety of people from various disciplines in his advisory committee/task force.
There is more at stake than simply ensuring a minimal amount of infection from the Wuhan Virus.
It’s easy for a guy like Carlson who continues to collect a paycheck and has no responsibility to anyone other than his own family who is perfectly fine because he is not in much danger of becoming unemployed.
Others are in danger of not being able to feed themselves, keep a roof over their head, make utility payments, car payments, etc...otherss are in danger of losing their businesses and thus their employees are in danger of that previously mentioned.
So, I’ll put my trust in the man I helped elect over the pontifications of Tucker Carlson.

Economics has to be considered in all political decisions, not just science. Economics involves analysis of scarce resources. The key scarce resource is money which must be a prime consideration with any decision.

With global warming we see a case where science is given too much power over economics. In the same way, economic considerations need to be considered along with public health.

very good point-medicine has really lousy data analytics-in this day and age: every US supermarket can tell you exactly how many packages of Jell-O were bought and on what day and what the price was and inventory on the shelf but medicine is so wide open and not synced between offices that it allows this political interpretation

“Science,” yes. “Scientists,” no. Science is always right. Not so with scientists. Lefties equate the two, then accuse conservatives of not believing in science. Nitwits.

Trump’s “gut” is meant to fill in for the many gaps in knowledge and insight from those scientists that you idolize.

the problem is that science is currently protecting archaic professional turf that no longer reflects reality and a 40 year old status quo.

science needs an overhaul that science seems incapable of administering.
