The Left is full of anti-car bicycle extremists. They run Oakland government.

Take over the streets for drag racing.

Here in Cslgary, I don’t believe that any streets have been closed down. Instead, they are reducing lanes to allow room for pedestrians to ‘social distance’ themselves as they walk. So, instead of a four lane road, it is now only two, allowing pedestrians more space.

Unfortunately, what I am seeing on some suburban two lane streets, is pedestrians walking on the street, not allowing room for me to get my bus past them and, many arenot moving over to let me by. Disappointing but not unexpected.

Back in the 1970s in Berkeley they had barricaded a number of the streets in the residential areas so that there was no through traffic. The residents of those streets were happy there was little traffic but it made it more difficult for commuters. On Ashby Avenue there were intersections where there was no cross traffic because there were barriers on the side streets, but they didn’t change the traffic lights, so people still had to wait at red lights at those intersections. I think the idea was to make driving as aggravating as possible so that people would stop using their cars and take public transportation.

Will this stop drive-bys?

This will make it easier for the thugs in Oakland to mug, rob, rape and murder those new walkers.

A lot of that happens in Oakland.

I feel like I’m stuck in a lab experiment that’s been turned into a dystopian game show that’s being carefully watched & judged by our stalinist overlords.

It’s a game of “let’s keep a tally of which idiotic orders the peons will passively obey, and figure out at which precise point the peons will erupt in mass resistance, and stop just short of that point.”

That’s what they’re doing. Ordering us first to stay inside, then go outside, but only do what we’re allowed, in lockstep. Hup!

No tonly in rat infested Oakland, A friend of mine lives in queens NY on a very narrow street where if you opened your car door traffic had to stop until you closed the door and moved yourself out of the way of traffic. The stupidity of these liberal skunks is just amazing. They painted a bicycle lane down the side of this street.

Oakland is making 74 miles of city streets inaccessible to their disabled.
