You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram. If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

This is a message from our good friend Larry Schweikart. I agree with every word.

Hi all!

He is risen!

Just a few thoughts in what I think will be the beginning of the end of the national lockup.

First, word is Governor Abbott is going to reopen TX this week. I think probably Gov. Ducey would do the same for AZ shortly after that. Trump is wisely putting this on the governors as much as possible, because Rush Limbaugh is right: if he does it, the very first death will be a martyr to unseat Trump. (That won’t happen).

Second, once most of the states are reopen (NY and CA will probably lag, but eventually be forced to end this crap), you will see the biggest economic explosion since the first six months of WW II. We have a situation where, still, most people have money. They have what economists call “demand.” But they have nowhere to spend their money. As soon as the restaurants and malls open, I think they will be packed . . . and I think people will be extremely generous in their tips.

So, we’ll lose some businesses. But golf courses-—nearing extinction-—have recovered big time. The bicycle manufacturing business has boomed (try to buy a bike at Wal-Mart). Packaged foods, flour, soups are in overdrive right now. When you add back in the “normal” economy to these hyped up and accelerated companies, the rebound is going to be massive.

American businesses will continue to leave China as well. Profits may take a temporary hit, but long term this is a good thing.

I remain confident that Trump will come out of this looking better than ever; that ALL incumbents benefit (which is good news for McSally and Gardner, but not so good news for the House), and that we may go into 2021 with the same setup we have now: Trump, GOP Senate (maybe a little bigger by 1-2, maybe the same), and a DemoKKKrat House. Trump will continue to work his agenda without the House.

Oh, and we now have over 400 miles of Wall either completed or under construction. I think this is now 20%?

Have a good holiday and remember the reason for the season.

I sure like your optimism.
