We haven’t done a very good job since the 1960s. We are turning into a surveillance police state and racing toward socialist totalitarian oppression. Never mind the impending financial collapse as our national debt races toward $40 trillion by 2025. That sounds dramatic but if you do the math with the rate of normal budget deficits during Trump’s 1st term, add in 4-5 trillion dollars for this national shutdown, then factor in all the lost tax revenue and the corporate tax write-offs going forward, $40 trillion national debt in 5 years is not a stretch.

My dad lived through the Dust Bowl years in South Dakota. He told stories about the steam trains coming through town. They’d stop, the locusts would swarm, and they’d accumulate so thick on the tracks that the driving wheels would slip when the train tried to pull out. And he said he saw swarms strip fields bare in the blink of an eye.
