A leading German epidemiologist who predicted the coronavirus crisis in Europe is now calling for governments to end the lockdown. But he now believes the lockdown is in danger of going on too long and causing more damage than the virus, and has drawn up a plan for how it can be safely lifted.
“It’s impossible to wait for a vaccine,” Prof Kekulé told The Telegraph. “The quickest we could have a vaccine ready is in six months. Based on experience, I’d say the reality is closer to a year. We can’t stay under lockdown for six months to a year. If we did that our society and our culture would be ruined.”
First, he says, the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions who are most vulnerable to the virus must remain in isolation.
“We have to persuade them to stay at home, and that means we have to find ways of making it bearable for them, such as apps that will allow them to order their shopping or continue their social life,” he says.
That brings us to the second point in Prof Kekulé’s plan: a move from social distancing to what he calls “smart distancing”.
“We need to adapt distancing to the situation. A cashier at a supermarket check-out, for instance, is going to be exposed to infection all day. He needs to wear a mask, he needs proper hygiene measures. A taxi driver needs to learn not to touch his face after handling money.”
Thirdly, and most controversially, Prof Kekulé says we have to let the young get the virus. “People under 50 are very, very unlikely to die or get seriously ill from the coronavirus,” he says. “We have to let them get infected so they can develop immunity.”

Ordinary Chinese who are still walking around looking like astronauts in their improvised personal protection gear sort of puts the lie to the line coming out of Beijing. I guess the individual social scores for those virus-dissidents will be in the dumper for many years to come?
You’re not explaining the Chinese lie. You say that th CCP is lying about Shanghai. But your not saying what is going on there. We are told that their is no draconian lock down there? Is there? If not, then there should be a huge number of deaths. How can they lock down a city that big anyway? And if there are not massive numbers of deaths like in the west, then why not. What are the stories of lock down? Or was their another way that the virus did not have the same affect in Shanghai. What are the facts. Which lie are they using. I understand they are lying, I never doubted that. But your not telling me what is happening there and why.

The disease was spread to America and abroad through ports and colleges. When we sent home our kids from their colleges, the virus showed up in 90% of the counties across America. All the major ports world wide got it as well. No matter how remote, the Maldives, The Faroe Islands, Greenland. Tasmania, they all got it at the same time. Wuhan got it, but the rest of China seems to be spared the brunt? How and why? We know China is not to be trusted. But how is China stopping it in Shanghai? Shanghai should produce 250 thousand corpses by itself with no lock down. Or around 10K with a lock down. But nobody is talking about a Shanghai lock down like in Wuhan. Are all the cities locked down? or are their more deaths than we are told about or is there a drug they use that works even somewhat? We need to KNOW which of these is the case.
I think that may have been CMB’s point. So far, treatment for this virus is outside of so many “expert” boxes, that what we know historically, may not fit here.
There have been several instances reported of folks having survived it, only to find themselves again testing positive. Unfortunately for all of us, journalism is a dying profession, and finding information that presents all of the important details that could help us all learn And decide, is next to impossible.

Similar to what Chris Martenson said in one of his Peak Prosperity youtube videos. He predicted we’ll eventually need to figure out how to infect people with a minimally infective load, so people can recover and get back to work.
