Baby-Face-Beshear gets on the TV every afternoon and with the demeanor of Mr. Rogers, talks down to Kentuckians every day like we are 8 or 9 year old children needing to be reminded of the same song and dance day after day after day.

I’m sick of it.

He is going to overplay his hand pretty soon.

Of course, it is! Were they kidnapped and dragged to church?

Huh? It isn't?

Liberal think tanks are now saying that when the shutdown is lifted, there should still be restrictions against all gatherings of 50 or more. Calculated to keep the churches shut down.

Freedom of religion, freedom of association.

Yes there is a serious health risk. There are ways of addressing it without violating rights. Masks & gloves for all at the door for starters.

Take note of these little dictators and make sure you and your neighbors and friends know who they are and vote their sorry asses out of office in November.

Looking at Kentucky’s numbers, there have been (up until the end of yesterday) 1693 total cases diagnosed, with 90 deaths (a 5.3% rate). And that is also with a total of 24,288 tested, so a 6.97 case rate and the death rate goes to 0.37% deaths for that number tested. Is it really worth doing this to religious services, given those diagnostic and death rates?

Except the person next to you does not have to show up at Church if he doesn't want to. He made the choice to show up at the church too.

This is the only way that we can ensure that your decision doesn’t kill somebody else, that your decision doesn’t spread the coronavirus in your county and in your community.

Um, wait a minute. "doesn't kill..."?

I thought this was all about flattening the curve and ensuring hospitals not overloaded, while herd immunity builds up. Its about the same number of cases, just spread out over longer time period. Still will be co-morbidity and death.

asking the pastor to consider some percautionary measure, yes.

suggesting to parishioners that they may wish to pray this week at home or on line, fine and dandy

threatening them or their pastor or church? i cannot agree. not at all

we need to end this lockdown of USA .....now!
it is getting worse and worse, and as the medical reports of successful treatment keep coming in it appears unnecessary, too

The Church should do this, itself. Take care of your own flock.

Kentucky is in SIP, I believe. So, the Church needs to simply record the attendance and check in on the congregants at home for 2 weeks. Try to have the church clean and be restrained, reasonably, during a service. Heck, check temps going in, if you want to.

We ought to get something for this damn Shelter in Place, and occasional and responsible congregation might be part of it. It sounds like it could be better than untraceable shopping, and is just as needed for some.

That’s my thought, anyway.

I would think that parishioners would be willing to voluntarily quarantine themselves if they could go to Easter service. But I’d also feel partly responsible if I attended Easter service and church members later died from COVID-19.

In fact, Jesus reprimanded the devil in the desert, telling the devil not to put the Lord to the test. But consider that some overzealous pastors read Acts 28:3-6 about Paul not dying after unexpectedly getting bitten by a snake, and then, ignoring their G-d-given common sense, die after allowing themselves to be bitten by a snake.

Insights welcome.
