This country needs to open NOW!!!! This COVID stuff is utter bullshit. Now the states don’t want Trump to tell them what to do - but a week ago, THEY were telling Trump to have a national lockdown and to lock down the remaining states. Democrats are full of hate.
As far as I know, the model that initially had the crazed 1M to 2M total deaths already had some form of mitigation baked into it. If somebody knows otherwise, please let me know.

They’ll never get it. It’s what happens when uneducated people become the age when they can hold public office. They were too busy learning about condoms on cucumbers, and nothing about civics. Now they’re running the states.

It’s truly not bullshit. This virus is wild — it can affect the heart, which concerns me right now, considering all these heart palps I’ve been having. I suspect they’re from some other thing, as usual. Maybe just some subconscious resistance to being cooped up.
I want to start gradually re-opening on April 30 in Maryland — end home confinement and re-instate curbside pickups for non-essential businesses, which our idiot governor ended with his stay-at-home order. Then beginning memorial day weekend, open up the non-essential businesses in full. Finally, on June 21, to welcome in the summertime, open up the restaurants, bars, theaters, stadiums, beaches, etc. That’s how I would like to see it go. YMMV.

My daily fatality index was around 30 for the US back about 18 March. Actions to date have lowered that to about 7% as of last night. Below is what the curve may have looked like if the US hadn't taken any actions at all to slow the spread and the DFI stayed at 30. Actually, the DFI would probably have risen quite a lot more once HCS collapsed and people began dying en mass from the lack of available medical treatment.

Home education in Japan and the US are not comparable because Japanese parents are so different from ours. The term “intense” about education comes to mind.

It will still help to some extent. Getting more domestic manufacturing going here will help even more.
