Mort Drunker, the renowned caricature artist behind many movie posters and the satire illustrations of cult comedy staple Mad Magazine, has died. He was 91.
Drucker is survived by his wife Barbara Hellerman, daughters Laurie Bachner and Melanie Amsterdam, and his three grandchildren. His longtime friend John Reiner confirmed his death to the New York Times.

Now I have to go look it up :)
I remember being 10 in 1978 when my brother gave me the magazine.
He told me he had a surprise for me and I was so excited i thought it was a model (not female, i was a kid!!) or a star wars action figure.
It was some dumb magazine.
And I didn’t understand some of it.
“Just my luck. Stuck with a gay robot”
I didn’t know what gay was lol
As I got older I loved it :)
LOL - My Dad and I loved Mad magazine, my Mom hated it. Heh.
Had a friend who subscribed to it. Read a lot of them in my early teens.
Seems like he always got the plum assignments eg their big movie parodies. Godfather, Star Trek, etc.
He always threw some speech balloon asides of his own in and there was always ‘stage business’ going on in the background.
OK, that’s it, my childhood is officially over.
So were probably only half a decade or decade apart in age :)

Great satire in the mag until they recently became downright vicious regarding anything to do with conservatism, especially their hatred of Trump.
I studied the “Dirty Harry” parody in MAD well before I saw that movie.
Quite a way to know the movie before you see it, it gives you a different perspective.
I loved MAD. It built a sense of satire and parody that continues just past the age of 60.
Prayers to the surviving family and those of us that love the work product.
It was “Saturday Night Live” before Saturday Night Live.
