President Trump signaled Tuesday he may put a “very powerful hold” on funding to the World Health Organization as he lashed out at the United Nations specialized agency and accused it of “being very China-centric” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Reiterating his complaints from a tweet earlier in the day, the president said that the WHO “has been wrong about a lot things.”
Trump has been critical of the WHO for opposing the travel restrictions from China and Europe.
“They’ve been wrong about a lot of things,” Trump said during the daily press briefing of the White House coronavirus task force. “They seem very China centric.”
He added: “We’re going to put a hold on the money sent to the WHO.” …

I wouldn’t believe that right away. Fox is populated by more never-Trumpers than just Shepard Smith who is no longer there. Certain radio stations that play Fox News Radio make that even clearer.

All of the world groups should go away. We already have a mechanism for diplomacy: diplomats. There is nothing stopping the medical community from communicating with one another and to think it requires a massive organization is silly. Why not use this thing called the internet to communicate for very little money? Many countries have some form of medical group to handle epidemics, why is there a need for a corrupt one that is managed by people who don’t like us?
We could put the UN, WHO, celebrities, and a few thousand illegal immigrants on a shipping boat and push it out to sea. Out there, these people could test all of their grand ideas without harming anyone else in the process. Then we’d see who likes capitalism, freedom, and America....

Of course, other countries, particularly in Europe, moved in to cover the defunding.
