good one!
Is there a real chance COVID-19 could be spread by mosquitoes or is it only a remote possibility? I did not need this thought put into my head.
The Salon interview linked to your post is a good read (with a happy ending). Buried deep within the interview is the fact that the patient was administered hydroxychloroquine. For some reason the editors at Salon are curiously not interested in that aspect of the story. Wonder why???
Daily percentage of new Corona virus deaths to previous day's total by country. 25% = total deaths double every 3 days, 20% = every 4 days, 15% = every 5 days, 10% = about 1 week, 5% = about 2 weeks.
I’m pretty well set but there’s always room for more.
Next week we’re going to start working on next winter’s supply of firewood.
We have a few trees on the property that need to come down and some that are already down and need to be cut up.
They need time to season.
DS is in the process of buying a house that has a nice fireplace that could handle a wood stove inert.
My thoughts are to do what we can while the economy is still in decent shape and we have the supplies to do it, and for the time being, the freedom to do it.
John Prine dead of covid.

More good songs by him than I knew. Too bad.
Wood stove insert.
A 3 or 5 day averaging would be clearer, but I like what you’re doing. Don’t give yourself more work.
A graph for the whole US is not so helpful now, with separate peaks in areas, but it matters in the end.
If you want to also pick an area and follow it that would be good, but you have a life.

Our thoughts too. Started years ago. Hubby cut down 20 trees last summer to make way for our Storage shed/root cellar.
We also put an insert into one of our fireplaces in 2018. It really did a good job heating the entire house. We didn’t even have to build a fire in the 2cnd fireplace.
We enjoyed the greenhouse/solarium room on days when the sun was shining-very warm and lots of sunshine to get the vitamin d and mood lifting sun shine. LOL
ARRRGH!
You meant that for another!
BTW, a friend of mine heats by wood at 1/4th the cost I pay for elect heat.
I don’t know how I got the impression it was meant for me LOL!
Sorry!
We had a fireplace in our last house and put in a wood stove, it was so large.
And boy was I glad we had it because shortly after that, the furnace went and mr. mm ordered the part, which was supposed to be there by Thurs, and didn’t show up until the following MONDAY.
It was late Oct or early Nov and was not terribly cold, so the wood stove did an EXCELLENT job of keeping us warm for that 5 days.
The house we have now is very well built and insulated and has one of those stoves with the catalytic combusters, which means that when it’s hot enough, it burns the gases and the smoke from the wood. It’s EXTREMELY efficient. I cannot believe how little ash we got from two days worth of burning. Only enough to fill a 9x13 brownie pan.
no evidence thus far, but did hear that it might be possible that mosquitoes could get it from a human and transmit it to a deer which then infects the tick. you can see where this is going.

Well, I was replying to MetMom, but anyone else who wants to chime in is welcome.
When our kids were in school, we ran both fireplaces and a wood stove in the basement. I thought it was crazy-we had to wear shorts and a T shirt. Hubby and the neighborhood guys would go out wood cutting all the time.
Our next door neighbor was an employee of the forest service for the Mark Twain Nat’l forest, and it was open to the county to get the downed trees, which he always knew where they were.
We are an all electric home, and it is very expensive, if you don’t use the wood heat.
That sounds like a rocket stove almost.
No worries, we are all friendly here.
don’t buy a wood stove insert made in china, I hear they give off some noxious fumes and you might have to wear a mask for a few days.
