I watch some marginal shows like 911 and Station 19. They both got some political/societal garbage that I put up with. Then I saw the ads for 911: Lone Star. I said this has got to have some rough and tumble. In the first 10 seconds of the first episode there were two guys kissing. Since it was recorded I fast forwarded thru and watched the rest of the episode. Decided to give the series another shot and watched the second episode. Oops, didn't watch the entire episode. Somewhere around the middle of the episode there was a scene that I saw about 2 or 3 seconds of with two guys in shorts. STOP, DELETE AND REMOVE FROM RECORD LIST. How in the h-ll does crap like this get released????? I know,, we are now in 2020sssssss. Pure garbage.
The Shield, The Wire, The Sopranos, Rome..1 great one and 3 very good ones to watch.
The Sopranos being the great one.
But The Shield rocked.
That’s bad, but I got one even worse. I was pleased to see a lot of free shows on for the Quarantine, so I chose “Great Courses, 30 Masterpieces of Ancient Art”, a series of college level lectures by a PhD from Boston College.
The first three (Cave Paintings, The Urak Vase, and the Ziggurat at Ur)were good. Then, suddenly, when describing Ancient Mesopotamian Rulers and their “god-like” qualities in the artifacts that depicted them, the “professor” began inserting slides of Obama!
I am NOT making this up.
Now we can see how “Higher Education” indoctrinates our youth by slipping their left-wing agenda into the lecture, even when it has nothing to do with politics.
I watch some of the first episode. That was enough for me.
Every damn series seems to push this crap, nowadays. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
It was like watching a woke person get more woke.
Checked l the wokey boxes. Sucked beyond belief.
The old family ranch is just out of the Hill country, the Colorado river runs SW of it a few miles. Love the folks there descended from the old 300 like Mom.
Was down there for a funeral not long ago and asked one of the old timers how things were. He said, “Well, it’s OK. But if you want anything done you have to call a 70 year-old. The young ones won’t do anything.” Heh.
The Sopranos!!! Could hardly wait for the next episode. Was it on HBO???
For me, television took a nose dive at the rural purge.
I bought a television for my pregnant wife in January of 1990 and got rid of it in March of 1995. I like to physically do stuff and to talk face to face.
I see enough of television while getting the oil changed or waiting at the laundromat to be pretty sure I’m not missing anything worth my time.
When I come across those types of things I return for a refund, exchange, and/or block the content, presenter, creator, publisher. Happens quite a bit with audiobooks and more frequent on podcasts.
The sort of crap you describe so well on television these days comes to us from the minds of people. People who grew up with absolutely no moral guidance whatsoever, therefore no societal mores. People who say things to us such as “If it feels good, do it.”
You will find these sorts in dark alleys, and government. They are known as Democrats.
I dont know why you are surprised, it is in Austin after all .....
Just about every supposed intellectual/educational program manages to slip in the global warming hoax.
I’m old enough to remember the Rural Purge.
That was the beginning of the end.
i don’t watch netflix, but i read someone saying several series on there were putting in random gay sex scenes that had no relevance to story or chars. Degeneracy just because.
Even TV commercials. Yeccch!
Like everyone else with this 'Lone Star' show, the homo kiss in the first minute was enough for me to say Get The Hell Off My TV!
The American entertainment industry is a "closed shop" PC propaganda machine. Until cable goes ala carte there's not much hope and with Comcast and AT&T having a strangle hold on the industry, that'll happen about the 12th of never.
I gave 911-Lone Star a second chance because a friend works Crew on the Show. Nope. Not even for a friend. Did you get far enough to see that one of the gay characters is the son of Rob Lowes character? Very surprised. Loved Lowe on his recent show, Code Black. It was canceled after 3 seasons.
Hope he surfaces in something else that doesnt compromise his integrity.
