The relevance to COVID crisis is that people have compared politicians (especially DeSantis, but also DeBlasio ) who wouldn’t close up for corona to the mayor of Amity Island, who wanted to keep the beaches open despite the shark.

I think some of these deaths ( and I’m not trying to be disrespectful of the dead or their families) are being treated like alcohol involved accidents.
You can be stone cold sober, and get into an accident. If you have alcohol in the car because you were taking it home from the store, it’s still an “alcohol involved” accident.
