In a world first, the Swedish government has announced that it is going to officially distinguish between deaths “by and deaths “with the coronavirus, which should lead to a reduction in reported deaths. Meanwhile, for some reason, international pressure on Sweden to abandon its liberal strategy is steadily increasing.

This is how the world ought to work. In a while, people will say THIS country did a smart thing, THAT country made a huge mistake.
“The country has bucked the near-global lockdown trend, choosing to allow schools, businesses and sports venues to remain open and relying on the good sense of its citizens to control the virus through social distancing and maintaining good hygiene.”
Sounds like they’ve come down with a bad case of common sense. I don’t we’ll hear much more about this unless it can be spun as a failure, or they can figure out how the Swedish experience can’t be replicated elsewhere.
I wonder if also one has to consider that countries like Sweden or Taiwan or South Korea have social mores that promote more cohesion and respect among one another. The trouble in North America is that too many people want it both ways (as part of their free lunch mentality) and that likely runs afoul of attitudes in those sorts of countries.
Hoping to kill off the Muslims they left in the country
Our son thinks he has already had it since he had what he then described as a bad cold when he came back from New Orleans. Hes fine now. He never took his temp because, hes a guy and at that time was living alone.
Our daughter has run a low grade temp now for a few days. Shes sheltering at her apartment. Sleeping a lot and living on soup. Shes always had a strong immune system.
The Wu Flu (not Corona Virus) is the least of Sweden’s problems.
The Mo-flu is far more dangerous.
And much more violent.
Leave it to a country other than the United States and without a Constitution enumerating a Bill of Rights to recognize freedom as a core value.

The jury will be in...probably in July or August. That’s assuming that Sweden releases accurate, truthful numbers.
What is known is that more than 647,000 people per year die from heart disease in this country, according to the CDC; and more than 599,000 die from cancer.
What is also obvious is that many if not most Americans are now living in fear of the newest disease to threaten in ways they never lived in fear of those old, established diseases.

Sweden does not have a Fauci and I doubt they’d tolerate him for long.
It could work for Sweden, given available and mandatory use of effective personal protection equipment, and/or effective treatments - neither of which the US, or many other western countries has/had.
Interesting that Sweden has twice tho population of each of its neighboring countries which all have almost the same population. They have a lower case rate then Norway, but the highest percent of deaths. Norway and the US’ case rate at one tenth of a percent with death rate per population. Sweden has the highest mortality rate among those that have been tested and tested positive or determined to have contracted COVID-19.

One reason it’ll probably work, is because Sweden is still a pretty homogenous country (excluding the “Asian youths”).
