China Is Reopening Its Wet Markets. That’s Good
Hold the outrage. Far from being cesspits of disease, they provide clean, fresh produce. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2020-04-04/coronavirus-closing-china-s-wet-markets-isn-t-a-solution
Mostly I'm surprised at Santa Clara and San Francisco. I remember the early days, when cases started popping up in Santa Clara, and they looked a lot like South Korea in the way they aggressively tracked each and every case to its origin and tracked down contacts. I really didn't believe they could do it, and it looked like they would be ground zero for CA. They were also the first to implement social distancing, cancel public events and issue stay at home orders. If "flattening the curve" is the goal, it appears they are very successful.
At the other end of the state, keep an eye on Los Angeles. CV19 appears to have gained a foothold there, and it could get bad. San Diego might become collateral damage. If it gets really bad, I think we might see the Border Patrol checkpoints between LA and SD closed, or at least doing fever checks.
I was referring to digital cash.
Nobody uses real, paper cash anymore.
It’s like carrying around a petri dish that everyone throws their used TP into.

Or, the one about what the (empty) hospitals really are being used for.
Strange days, indeed.

Something to consider, ITaly can be considered to be one epidemic. In the US we have a plum pudding of individual epidemics, each of which have probably followed pretty classical epidemiology up to this point. But when they get accumulated since they are all at different places in time, our National data is beginning to smear out and deviate from the classical model. Whatever your Day 18 is, that kind of variance indicates not enough data to tamp down the noise. A curve that looks like a saw blade aint a curve.

IIRC they said this is why NYC Homicide detectives need PPE. I would imagine a whole lot of folks are considering settling old scores at this time.
“Far from being cesspits of disease, they provide clean, fresh produce.”
The cesspit sewers under China’s markets is the ideal environment for the continued development and escape of myriad zoonotic pathogens.
The collective knowledge of every scientist on the planet could not design a more perfect environment for disease development.
And it’s OBVIOUS Bloomberg is taking money, or somehow getting favor from PRC.
Yes, Norcal and Socal are really two different states.
Trouble is brewing in Socal.

Coronavirus patients delivered to hospital ship Comfort in New York by mistake: US officials
By Lucas Tomlinson | Fox News
EXCLUSIVE - Multiple patients infected with coronavirus were transferred to the hospital ship Comfort from the Javits Center in New York by mistake, three U.S. officials tell Fox News.
The number of Covid-19 patients brought on board the hospital ship was estimated to be less than five, one official said.
This information has not been previously reported.
The patients were transferred sometime Friday, according to the officials. At the time the patients were transferred to the hospital ship Comfort, the initial screening did not indicate they were positive, officials said.
The hospital ship is located on Pier 90 on Manhattans west side and arrived in New York Monday. The vessel has a couple dozen patients on board right now, according to chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman.
Part of the protocol before receiving patients onboard Comfort is for a coronavirus test to be performed. The swab test came back hours later, but not before the patients had spent a night onboard the vessel, which is only supposed to treat trauma patients, not Covid-19 positive patients.

Long lines seen (last week) here. They might be desperate.
