If someone is economically ‘devastated’ after 2 weeks, something’s wrong and it ain’t the gubmint. Lost it in stocks? where was your hedge? Lost your job? Where is your rainy-day fund? Store closed? Again, where’s your rainy-day fund? Why aren’t you driving for a delivery service to make some instant cash? Why aren’t you applying for one of all those jobs considered ‘essential’? From construction to minimarts to Costco. Welfare folks aren’t hurting - their checks still come. Section 8 housing still there. Same as SS. Can’t get evicted, can’t get foreclosed, can’t have your water shut off. Those with the lowest earnings will get their rescue check first. 2-3 weeks? com’n now. Don’t go all drama queen.
There you go, making sense again.
I wasn’t referring to myself. You don’t seem to understand the cascading effects high unemployment causes. It will send aftershocks through the economy from top to bottom. Housing prices, consumer spending, etc. We are facing a long period (years) of recession due high unemployment and economic uncertainty. We can’t wish that away. Sorry.

Amen!!
Post of the day.
I started working at the local grocery store last week, in the department that picks & packs online orders. I don't need the money, it was the only way I could figure out to volunteer and help (I'm taking the money, but that's not the real reason).
What motivated me to do it was the fear and anxiety I saw in all the little old ladies and young families quietly padding around the store looking to pick up some essentials
