It is a back and forth, give and take. There will likely multiple periods of opening and shutting down. I thought that was already known?

Unless everyone was willing and able to self-isolate completely for however long it takes for the virus to be completely eradicated, that is going to happen.
We have to learn to live with it and manage it.
Hopefully by the end of April, we’ll have good treatments being widely available so we can start bringing the economy back online.

From the very beginning I’ve said it’s easier to put out brushfires than a conflagration.
It will probably be with us forever. But we will develop herd immunity as we accumulate survivors and vaccinated (when that’s ready). And treatments will become proven and ubiquitous. It just takes time.
Focus on the real enemy. The virus. And its ally, China.
