To: Fury

I’ve heard the argument that we should not shut the economy down because doing so will result in as many deaths as the virus by other means, although only one person has suggested what those other means are, and that was suicide because of depression. An unprovable assertion at the very least.

But they are not in the same category in the least.

Nobody chooses to fall victim to a virus.

People who commit suicide choose to do so.

Nor am I willing to sacrifice lives just so some else can profit financially from it.

But at some point people will go back to work and there will still be COVID-19 cases? And there may be localized outbreaks.
