Why would they have to go out? You can file the ez form online for free.

I found out they will no longer accept 2018 returns — or previous years — online, so had to print out the form and mail it; no big deal.

Not completely sure about this, but I don't believe they use the 1040-EZ forms anymore.   If I'm not mistaken, you have to use a regular 1040, or use the 1040-SR for seniors.   (Here's a couple links related to the seniors form.)

The EZ form was discontinued years ago.
