I know that Covid-19 is RAMPANT in the Cook County Jail, so maybe they are needed for guards, or to set up another detention facility. That would be my first guess.

I saw a convoy of them a few weeks ago on I65. This is not uncommon

Army Reserve Medical units are being mobilized also. Don’t ask me how I know this.
Makes sense. Trained personnel who can rapidly deploy to hotspots is becoming a bigger issue than material shortages.

The only problem with mobilizing medical reserve units is that they are manned by otherwise civilian MDs, nurses, techs, etc., drawing them from facilities where they are also needed.
