Two U.S. states Alabama and Massachusetts have begun providing the addresses of those known to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 to police in a bid to contain the spread and protect first responders who might answer a call where a coronavirus sufferer is involved.
Alabama began providing the addresses but not names to police and other emergency responders starting more than a week ago. The information is being distributed to 85 emergency communications districts in the state, and is then relayed to police officers and other first responders when they go out on calls.
Its only on an as-known, as-needed basis, said Leah Missildine, executive director of Alabamas 911 Board. The impetus behind this is to protect first responders because 9-1-1 receives the information and coordinates the response of first responders. That was deemed the most efficient way to share this information.
Massachusetts order went into effect March 18. It allows the health board to share the addresses again, not names of people who tested positive for COVID-19 with emergency responders. The order cites a need for continued operation of public health and safety services during the state of emergency.

Singapore and Taiwan had no shortage of everybody’s travel history, contacts and current location.
True or not, RINO governors are domestic enemies within the gates.
How is that not a hippa violation. Oh thats right, some animals are more equal...
Alabama???
Didn’t expect something like this in that state
“Alabama and Massachusetts Are Handing the Addresses of People With Coronavirus Over to Police”
if true, that’s gotta be violations of Federal HIPPA, and if it was me I’d be suing the crap out of whoever i could as soon as i could ...
“Didnt expect something like this in that state”
apparently mindless panic causes even the most basic of civil rights to be instantly thrown out the door ...
They must have guns.
I didn’t expect it anywhere

Shit like this will cause people who think they have Covid 19 to not seek treatment thus spreading it further.
first responders would be idiots to think that an address is in any way safe if it is not on this list. This serves no purpose and actually increases the risk for emergency responders by making them more complacent.
Sure hope they are giving cops lists of women who had abortions during this outbreak.

Checking for a second source...
I’m in Alabama and I’m shocked.
Our local news hasn’t reported anything about this.
Until this panic started, I was mostly pleased with Governor Ivey. She was bringing jobs to the state and seemed to be a good conservative.
I didn’t agree with her decision to close the schools and beaches. If this is true, I REALLY don’t agree with this.
This will make many people in the state angry. The panic has gone much too far.
“Sure hope they are giving cops lists of women who had abortions during this outbreak.”
Excellent point!
Really they should treat everyone like they have it and wear gloves and a mask when they have to deal with them.
Since Obeyme forced doctors to go to digital record keeping, ALL our info can be accessed by the feds anytime they want to.
It’s legal.
As for the federal hippa law?
Maybe. There are a LOT of exceptions to absolute privacy in that law. And I would not doubt there’s one for infectious diseases...and I know there are exceptions for agency sharing...and statistical analysis etc.
Infectious disease statutes are absolutely the most intrusive of any law in the US. And many have been on the books for 100 yrs or more.
And when people are scared they will use them...and enforce.
Who in Alabama is doing this? Medical personnel? Elected or appointed officials? What agencies?
I doubt if it’s true as it’s coming from vice.
