WASH YOUR HANDS: Stay-at-Home Orders are a Democrat Thing
Colorado Peak Politics ^ | 31 Mar, 2020 | Staff

If you think issuing drastic stay-at-home orders is more of a Democrat than a Republican thing, you’re right — all but two of all Democrat governors have moved forward with the drastic edicts, yet only a handful of Republicans have dropped the hammer. CNN has a running list of those states, although they missed Pennsylvania’s Democrat governor issuing the order.

A total of 31 states have told residents to stay at home and not go to work unless it’s of vital importance to the state — doctor, policeman, liquor store clerk. And of the country’s 24 Democrat governors, 22 are on the list.

It’s interesting Democrats are quicker with the trigger to kill jobs and put people on unemployment lines, cripple the economy, and infringe on people’s liberties. Granted, some of the hardest-hit states are governed by Democrats, and those orders are necessary in places like New York, Louisiana, California, Washington.

(snip)

It came naturally for Democrat governors including Polis to shut down their economies and put their people on social welfare rolls.

The trick will be to encourage all those businesses to reopen while explaining to unemployed workers why the government can’t keep extending their benefits indefinitely.

What business owner who has been shut down against his will would ever listen to a government official’s “encouragement” again?

“Yet other states like Kentucky declared a state of emergency after one case was reported.”

Not to defend Democrat governors but generally the states with the biggest cities and thus the ones more at risk have Democrat governors. So it makes sense that they would want to be more stringent than governors who generally have more rural states.

DeWine in Ohio was at the front of the line. First with the screaming Doom and among the first to put people under house arrest.

Hogan of Maryland can hardly be called a Republican. He is a never-Trumper and lets it be known frequently. He campaigned for reelection on the great economy in Maryland, giving no credit to Trump or Maryland’s proximity to DC with all the money that flows from there in the way of federal salaries and contracts.

It should be noted that our wise governor of Texas Gregg Abbott has deemed liquor stores essential services. They are open for business.

29,472,295 angry, armed and sober Texans would really be a problem. We just might decide to take over the world. My beloved governor Abbott just wants to be governor of Texas and not rule the world. He made a wise decision about liquor stores.

In all seriousness my great state of Texas has a most wonderful governor. He is a white boy married to a lovely Mexican lady as I. We are Texas, we are great, we are Texicans. I love my state, my white governor, his Mexican wife and my Mexican wife. That is a good as it gets.

Spanish and English is spoken in our home. I grew up on the border and lived in Venezuela for a few years thus this white boy speaks Spanish. Our kids are hopeless in Spanish with the exception of one that married a lady from Peru. He is quite fluent as is our grandchild in both English and Spanish.

I will blame it on our Alaska governor being a former teacher, because he has taken the panty-waste leftist strategy and has basically shut everything down.
I’m thankful I’m required to work but A LOT of people and small businesses are hurting. Bad. This state is dang expensive and it’s been cold up here. Leftists are seemingly running the show.
