Thanks Lil. She won't even allow them to put a cannula on her. We've been able to facetime, no one is allowed to visit, and she says she feels a little better. This Coronavirus is like nothing any of us have ever experienced. Apparently, it's many times worst than the flu, if you get a serious case of it.

Over the last couple of weeks she has had a very bad cough, congestion, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme malaise, and finally a shortness of breathe, so severe, she finally sought medical help. She's a very stubborn lass - she gets that from her aunt, I'm sure. :)

Prayers for her. I hope she will be able to recognize a downturn quickly and let them give her air. I read (if I remember correctly) that 10 hours low O2 is a precursor to a sudden downturn.

The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.

As of noon on March 31, the Department reported 1,212 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 5,237 positive cases. This is a 30% increase since yesterday.

Hospitalization
A total of 1,355 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized; of those, 438 patients require ventilation.

Deaths
The Department reports an additional 54 deaths since yesterday, bringing the total to 239 deaths. This is a 29% increase since yesterday. Deaths are listed on the LDH dashboard by parish under the by parish tab and information by age can be found on the by age group tab. The ages of all deaths can be found here.

Below is what we know about the underlying conditions among COVID-19 deaths to date, as of March 29:

Diabetes (40%)
Chronic Kidney Disease (23%)
Chronic Liver Disease (2%)
Immunocompromised (4%)
Neurological (6%)
Obesity (25%)
No Underlying Conditions (3%)
Long-term care facilities
The Department of Health has identified COVID-19 clusters in 40 long-term care facilities in the state. For context, there are a total of 436 nursing homes and adult residential care facilities in Louisiana.

questions this video raises:

1) How does Korea, being 96% homogenous, with a very small Chinese population, and early to close traffic with China, compare to say, Italy or the US, with very large urban Chinese population/tourist flow, that is harder to control?
2) Why is mortality from flu in elderly Koreans so high, if everyone in Korea traditionally wears a mask? how comparable are their rates to say, Italy or the US ?
3) How does Korea’s video surveillance, tracking bracelets, transaction monitoring, cellphone monitoring and other AI-assisted quarantine violation monitoring and forced incarcerations affect their rate of spread, over countries that don’t allow such privacy invasions?

Thanks Chris, and everyone for your prayers. Will provide an update later on her condition. She's tough, and says she's feeling a tiny bit better, so hopefully over the worst of it - it's had her down for two weeks now or longer - we just didn't know what it was, but expected it was Corona.

Still had to wait two days for the test to confirm before specific treatment could be started - FDA regulations have probably killed more people than viruses.

I wouldn’t either, I’m sure he will get a huge ratings boost. I’ll tune in just to see what he looks like each night.
