Todays Cryptogram
NQXVATRTAX TO BMVE SNK LN JDUNQD SNK LN ONYDEMTAX, ON EMVE BMDA SNK LN TE, TE TO ANE VPP YTWDL KC. V.V. YTPAD
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays puzzle. If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
About 3 minutes, once I had my coffee and set up my morning routine.
I got the author right away. The rest fell into place.
2ish.
Having just moved house these past few days, it is something I can really relate to... (and wish I’d done more of it.)
Unusually complicated, despite the many short words.
In my mind, only a very few possibilities for the author and LUCKILY I guessed correct on the first try. AHA, went down like the pins in an alley sweep.
Definitely why you hook the horse to the the cart prior putting a heavy load on the cart....
I used to have a laborer that would (when given what he thought was a hard ‘task’) say
“GO AHEAD, LOAD THAT WAGON, THE MULE IS BLIND SO HE WILL NEVER SEE IT”
I guessed correctly at the author but didn’t fill in his name.
The two-letter repeated word is what you think it is. Two minutes.
Yes. Getting the author led to solving the rest.
Pretty easy today.
I doubt that the author would have written NQXVATRTAX, rather he might have written NQXVATOTAX.
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/46807 has it as NQXVATRVETNA which might be “acceptable” in the author’s dictionary.
Only a couple of minutes! Good one!
Did you post the solution to yesterday’s puzzle? I never solved the whole thing. Don’t give me the whole answer. Just tell me if “without” is one of the words. If it is, I can probably figure it out. If not, I’m on the wrong track.
Im sorry, I did not in fact I posted the whole CG via my cell phone. The answer is no that word does not appear.
The authors name begins w the letter a
Yes, without is in the CG from two days ago.
