Yesterday's thread here:
http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3829269/posts?page=1
“And please, no research that is not peer reviewed from the PRC.”
Peer review is more for political correctness these days than scientific accuracy. Just sayin’.
I admit it might be a misrememberance, but I think the first time I saw that term here it was used by a ranting FluBro deep in the throes of tinfoil conspiracy meltdown.
I do occasionally visit the FluBro threads when they insist on trolling the rational ones.
Took many cruises on the Rotterdam, once upon a time. It was a favorite.
Religious message only in the last 10 minutes.
And the problem IS a virus environment.
“He is one of the more hateful ones...there are some that are pretty nasty”
He’s also a union boy, which explains much.
“China announced human-human transmission in late Jan, and our CDC nearly broke out laughing.”
I don’t think China announced it, rather some researchers there published a paper to that effect.
But when it got to their political leadership, they denied human/human and had WHO do the same...hence the mess we have.
The head of China CDC made the announcement.
I’d pull the online articles if I thought it was still an important matter.
China lied
People died
“The above link (interview with the inventor of the N95 mask) says the best way is to rotate masks every 3 to 4 days leaving them to air dry.”
I was thinking of exactly the same 24 hours, but 3 to 4 days works for me. And, actually, the very low mask usage and exposure to viral loads, due to not having to go to 6 Big Boxes every day looking for toilet paper (as the FluBros have to do), means that our masks capture very few virons in the first place. Given that, I suspect the viral load after 24 hours will be nil.
“The same people who said not to use masks are saying no proof ibuprofen is an issue when you do a search”
No kidding. First they claimed non-aerosol, then no masks needed, then ibuprofen is fine until proven otherwise.
Thankfully we have these threads and can see which way the data is pointing - so, for at least us non-FluBros, they’re talking to a brick wall on stuff like this.
“due to not having to go to 6 Big Boxes every day”
I go out once a week to shop for three sets of elderly folks. If I could just shop for my wife and I, we could get by on once every two weeks. Or more if we really had to.
I have a relative that used to live on a ranch. She was only an hour and a half out of the nearest town, but she would only go into town 4x a year.
Her husband? One time a year - to bring the taxes in. Then, with the husband wearing a new shirt and new pair of jeans, they would go out for a nice dinner and dancing.
Please post a link to offender. I’m Jewish and would like to have a word with them.
“The head of China CDC made the announcement.
Id pull the online articles if I thought it was still an important matter.”
I don’t doubt that...but that’s likely the political world (certainly for us it is), unlike the people who publish papers.
If the answer to my question below has already been posted, maybe someone can direct me to it. (I’m trying to get started on our garden, today!!)

President Trump mentioned at some length a machine to do mass disinfections of masks for re-use, up to 20 times. Does anyone know what process this machine uses? Specifics, please (but no need to go into patent level detail!)
https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-03-29/coronavirus-choir-outbreak
Above is a link that somebody had posted previously (sorry, I tried to find the poster and post but couldn’t). It is about a choir in Washington State that held practice on March 6th. Many are now infected and two dead.
They were very careful to not touch each other or common items. No doubt it was airborne. The article links to other studies.
I am guessing that the “experts” said this virus was not airborne (even though the regular flu is) to avoid a panic on mask buying. Or - to avoid panic when masks were not available.
Above is the article about the device Battelle invented. It uses Hydrogen Peroxide gas. It is a commercial unit, but there might be something in there that could be modified for home use??
I’m guessing it isn’t as easy as dumping a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide into a pot and boiling it and hanging the mask in the steam. The HP (3%) is mostly water, and the water boils off at a lower temperature than the HP. I’ve seen videos where to get a stronger HP solution for disinfecting you can heat it up at just below boiling and the water will evaporate and the liquid remaining after 2(?) hours will be a higher percent HP.
