My comments are based on my observations of people’s behavior outside, in the streets, and in the stores. “We” here (at FR) have our “ear to the rail” and just might have a keener understanding of what’s happening. The average Phoenician, “maybe” not as much.

Perhaps, better stated- the citizens of AZ, are slow to see the “storm” rolling in.

I understand the numbers, I’ve been watching them too, at the ADHS’s website.

https://www.azdhs.gov/preparedness/epidemiology-disease-control/infectious-disease-epidemiology/index.php#novel-coronavirus-home

I’m taking the tract of self confinement as much as possible. I’m retired and can be flexible with my time away from the house. I’m not paranoid. I’m as patriotic as the next person and understand that our liberties are in the balance.

Your number of deaths isn’t too far off of what has been reported as Goldman Sachs’ forecast provided to investors.

No big deal. Most of ‘em were old and/or sick anyways.

Mass. DPH commissioner tests positive for COVID-19
By Brian Dowd -
March 28, 2020

Monica Bharel, the state’s public health commissioner, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Department of Public Health (DPH).

In a statement issued Friday, Bharel confirmed she was tested Thursday night and received her results on Friday from the state Public Health Laboratory.

“As the public health commissioner and an essential state employee, I have been vigilant about practicing social distancing from my colleagues and members of the public. My symptoms so far have been mild,” Bharel said in a statement. “I have notified my appropriate close contacts and will rest and recuperate at home, while continuing to carry out my work responsibilities remotely.”

My nephew lives in Manhattan. He's been pretty much self quarantined for several weeks (works from home).

He said he went out twice late last week. Once was late at night to a 7/11. He said there was a sign outside, "no more than 8 people" inside the store. Something like that.

He said there was easily twice that in the store and they were all in there coughing and yakking away on their cell phones.

“More Americans Should Probably Wear Masks for Protection”

Gee, ya think?

It’s the only path to getting back to work, even if that’s limited.

based on my observations of people’s behavior outside, in the streets, and in the stores.

Can't say for what it's like in the stores here in TX since I haven't been out for 2 weeks but can tell you it's party central out the window from this keyboard. The first week of the shut down was quiet but that's as long as the stupid could stay home. On a local site, people are whining and going to Walmart regularly. Oh, the horrors of going through the drive thru instead of dining in. That what a pain having to drag the kids along now that they aren't being babysat in school. And panic if they lose their jobs and they already have no money. Really, no money but still working? I - think - not. Then stop going to Walmart and getting take out. Bunch of sissy little liars need to stay the heck home.
