The relevance of the topic aside, very few 16 minute songs have been any good. I liked Neil Young’s “Ordinary But I heard it on a mountain road in New Mexico, in the fall, sunroof open... and it just kept going and going and didn’t get boring.
Freebird, long and awesome. Echoes by Pink Floyd live at Pompeii, very cool, but long and weird. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly worked. Grateful Dead did some long stuff, some worked, a lot didn’t IMO.
It’s hard to imagine Dylan pulling it off.
Yeah! And the Reichstag was burned by a communist too! And those Poles attacked a German radio station on the border. And Spain sunk the USS Maine. And FDR had no clue a Japanese attack was coming.
It’s about the spirit of the anti-Christ taking over this country in the 60’s.
Or at least getting a foot hold.
Like American Pie.
Ordinary People by Neil Young that is
I would rather Senator John F. Kennedy of Louisiana released a 15 second song on the ass-assy-nation of Bob Dyan.
It’s a lament for the passing of America. The timing is perfect.
I firmly believe that Oswald shot JFK and that he was the sole and only assassin. The evidence is overwhelming. If there was a conspiracy to kill him, it was a conspiracy of one.
You're comparing apples and asteroids.
Yes, she accused him of that without giving a single example. Mitchell has always been a bit of a kook.
Oswald did it but I’d bet he was silenced by others involved. If others were in volced however, they damn well got the lid on it and KEPT it down...
It took him 50 years to write.
What is that from?
Fifty seven years later we finally have Dylan’s take on the Kennedy assassination. Wow.
For ballads, I’ll take John Prine over Dylan any day of the week!

I think there were two conspiracies - one to kill him and one to cover it up which the second didn’t understand who the first ones were and was scared shitless about starting a World War if the fingers pointed to Russia or Cuba.
I don’t believe Oswald was a patsy. He played his role. But he was a dumb, disillusioned kid who didn’t know who was pulling his strings. He had to be silenced before he could say who his comrades were.
Big Dylan fan here, but only made it 6 minutes. Calling JFK a king is just piling it too high.
The left cannot stand that JFK was killed by a commie nutter and not a fascist conspiracy. They cannot accept it.
“Ordinary People”
Now you’re talking. One of the greatest songs of the 80s that almost nobody heard.
Yep. They never question the narrative on who shot Reagan or Ford.
