I was somewhat underwhelmed, and it had a really stupid critical scene that IMO would not have happened in the real world.
The cimematography was amazing, though.

I found Dunkirk a bit disappointing...but was looking forward to 1917.

Perhaps others have been waiting for the rental option to happen. Perhaps other opinions are welcome like the person who said it was underwhelming. And, sorry, if I broke FR protocol. It was posted under general discussion, not breaking news.
I thought it was Ok. The premise (go save your brother) was not realistic. They could have sent any one of a million men—but they sent the corporal to go save his brother.
That just didn’t feel real.
It was well made and “beautifully” photographed.

I just saw it last night. I portrayed the grimness of trench warfare to a degree, I think.
The scene with the plane made me think of the movie “The Fugitive” for obvious reasons.
