The federal government is poised to send checks — or make direct deposits — to most Americans to help people survive financially in the wake of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The health crisis has evolved into an economic crisis as businesses and schools shut down to slow the spread of the virus.
Based on the CARES act approved by the U.S. Senate late Wednesday, many American would receive a payments of $1,200, and families would see an extra $500 per child they claim as a dependent on their tax returns.

I do NOT like this bill and its vast expenditures and the principal behind it. But since it’s happening, just figuring out IF I will receive anything is interesting.

With regard to your position about folks on Soc. Sec. getting these stimulus checks...I am somewhat in agreement with you,altho that’s what I am living on. I get enough that I can manage, but some Soc. Sec. checks are considerably less than mine & I’m not sure how some of those folks manage at all unless they are living almost free except for food....no car, no rent, no utilities, etc. Then there are the ones who have/had a small business that is having to be closed & this check probably won’t begin to make up for their losses. There are going to be many inequities no matter what, & probably many hard feelings about the stimulus money.
When you calculate try to figure in the inevitable rise in prices as trillions of new fiat dollars flood the economy or, better put, as the wealth of the nation is divided into more are more units of valuation thus debasing the actual value of each unit. It is essentially theft of value and redistribution by the Rulers as the value lifted from individuals’ savings is appropriated by the government to spread around to “more deserving” recipients.
I get nothing, so much for that Waygu rib roast and case of .308 I was gonna buy.
