But as my grandmother used to say, "Laughter is the best medicine. So you'll have to settle for that until they figure out what's wrong with you."
At least I think my grandmother said that. It may have been in a Hallmark card. I forget.

I’ve had several extended business trips to China in recent years. The last one finished up on Jan 20, just before travel restrictions began. In previous years I was amazed at how well Free Republic worked over there when so many other American websites like Facebook and anything Google-related were blocked. I used to use Free Republic to test internet connections when using a new WIFI network because it was so reliable.
During my last visit FR was also blocked, and even “Express VPN” failed frequently. The only way I could access FR was to create a hotspot with my Verizon phone that had an expensive international dialing option.
It’s possible that Freepers in China aren’t able to read or post currently. I hope not.
