Still worthless.
So? They’re trying to prevent healthy people from stockpiling the drug, so that people who are actually sick can get it. Would you rather they not do anything, so if you should end up in a hospital with CoVID-19, you can hear, “We wish we could give you hydroxycholorquine, but hoarders have bought out everyone’s supply, so there is none” ?
States are making these rules to stop doctors from prescribing the drug to healthy people, including themselves, their family, friends and wealthy patients, “just in case”. Pharmacies were being slammed with thousands of unneeded prescriptions, and the millions of doses donated by Novartis, Bayer and others was never going to make it to those who needed it without intervention. 60 Million doses were dumped into the system and they were disappearing so fast hospitals were running low. No one is stopping HCQ from being administered to patients hospitalized with CV19, they are stopping hoarding. Once production is ramped up to exceed demand, doctors can resume abusing their privileges.
Hoarding HCQ during such an emergency is no different than if doctors were snatching up currently unused respirators for themselves, family and friends “just in case”.
