SPAIN
The coronavirus death toll in Spain surged to 4,089 after 655 people died within 24 hours, and number of confirmed cases rose to 56,188, the health ministry said on Thursday.
It was a 19 percent increase on figures released Wednesday by the authorities in Spain, which has the world’s second highest death toll from the disease after Italy.
Despite a national lockdown imposed on March 14, which parliament on Thursday agreed to extend until April 11, both deaths and infections have continued to mount, with officials warning this week would be particularly bad.
“Just found a stash of several bottles of old (exp: 2017) 91% isopropyl alcohol.
Should I toss them?”
NOOOOO!!!
The only thing that happens is that some of the alcohol evaporates. At only 3 years past the date, it is still probably 89%! I did have some old hand sanitizer from 2011. I added some 99% alcohol to bring the strength up in case the alcohol had evaporated. I would research more on the net about it.
Same goes for canned food too. It may not look or taste the best, but most stuff is still good to eat and have the nutrients.

Vietnam’s successful handling of covid.
and how they’re dealing with tens of thousands of people escaping US and Europe.
“In the end I suspect meds will be discovered to not really be a part of it. 99.3% will recover.”
In SK and on the DP it is mathematically impossible to achieve those results, even though in each case the entire resources of a whole country were marshalled to fight their respective outbreaks.
DP will likely be around 2% (hopefully less, but it is at 1.7% with a hundred cases left to resolve). SK has deaths at a higher rate than they are finding new cases, so their current 1.4% is certainly going to rise and will likely approach 2% as well.
Then there is anyplace that has a HCS collapse. Wuhan, Madrid, Milan, NYC, NO, LA...
Italy has a 10% DCR. That’s their CFR if you assume everybody else that is unresolved lives. Care to offer an estimate of the percentage that actually do? In order to get to a 0.7% CFR Italy would have to find about 1.1 million new cases and have all of them survive. Never gonna happen.
This ain’t no flu.
I have been retired for years. I havent exactly been keeping that a secret. Now Im not even a doctor anymore. I havent seen a patient in years.
Did you read about Irving? He was a real character.
I wouldn’t.
If they dry quickly, like fresh stuff, there’s still likely to be a fair amount of alcohol left.
Put some on an open cut and see what happens.
That should tell you quick enough.
But it ain’t 1918, neither.

TX
Gov. Abbott - “Anyone flying into Texas from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or the city of New Orleans will be subject to a mandatory self-quarantine for 14 days or the duration of their stay, per a new executive order Gov. Greg Abbott announced Thursday meant to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The order is in line with new federal guidelines, Abbott said, and will be enforced by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Violators will subject to a $1,000 fine or 180 days in jail or both. It only applies to those traveling by air.”
From what I can find....it may have degraded a TINY bit.
So, I know it’s (likely) at least 71% :-)
That’s my science, and I’m sticking with it!
Would you like to see if I know Neuroanatomy better than I know statistics?
Tonight we pass Italy and China for cases.
Soon....when NYC releases their late data dump for sure.
Wait until all those infected that fled NY cause the collapse of containment all along the Eastern Seaboard.
We are simply between waves.
Looks like a lot of countries have come down to 10% growth, or less.
That’s good.
