If, as advertised, this drug is 100% effective the answer to the question should be “Zero”. If there is any other answer we might want to reconsider.
But if the number of those taking the drug prior is no different on average than any other comorbidity, what ever else the drug does it doesn’t “work.”
If we knew that, it might tell us something about how effective it is. The problem with that is that it probably wouldn’t tell us much about how effective it is for people without preexisting conditions because if people were already on it, they’re on it for some reason.
There are no demonstrated cases of this prescription killing people.
There are many cases of medically supervised and administered help to people and even full resolution of symptoms and viral presence.
The fact that the Nevada governor pathologically banned this drug treatment tells you that it works.
If you know a Vietnam vet then you know a 'survivor' of this terrible (sarc) drug that was given to millions of military serving in that 10 year skirmish during their typical 1 year deployment there.
As far as I know in this fog of war generated by our enemies the Chinese and the Media Trump-haters, the answer is zero.

DATA is important. Equally important would be are those who were taking it previously among the RECOVERED. The relative outcomes on both sides are relevant. If you or yours come down with the virus and test positive, I assume you’ll avoid the medications?
The question is not can the drug be taken safely. You are correct. Does it WORK is the question.
