Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah says he has tested negative for the coronavirus.
Romney posted on Twitter, “Thankfully I’ve tested negative for COVID-19.”
Romney says guidance from his physician is consistent with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and requires him to remain in quarantine. He says the test “does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period.”
President Donald Trump, who has feuded with Romney for years, appeared to mock the Utah senator on Twitter, writing, “This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!”

That’s the part I’m not so sure about. Let’s say some bill is before the Senate. Trump really wants this bill passed. And the vote is going to be close. After this latest round of mockery, would Romney be more or less likely to vote for the bill?
Trump’s a smart guy, a lot smarter than me. I just hope he’s weighing the pluses and minuses carefully.

I watched a$$holes like McCain and Chuck Hagel use GWB like a Pinata for years. Critizing him at a moments notice. Giving cover to Democrats.
Meanwhile during the OBAMA Presidency McCain and Hagel were never heard from. No criticism. Nothing. McCain runs a campaign guaranteed to throw the victory to Obama.
Trump is elected and lo and behold McCain returns to carrying water for Liberal/Democrats and attacks Trump on a routine basis.
Now Romney. BEGS Trump for a job. Takes his endorsement and wins a Senate seat. Then VOTES to IMPEACH Trump. He is the NEW McCain. SCREW HIM. Trump has my permission to eviscerate any time he wants.

He should *not* spare Romney one inch. Romney is one who voted to impeach Pres. Trump on non-crimes. I think it shows Trump has a kinder heart in that he only ribs Romney, who showed his intent to actually help try and destroy Trump.

It would only be the people of Utah who could park this guy on the sidelines at his next next election.
You sure are taking some flak here. But I think you made a fair point. I’m not saying that you were correct. I’m saying you made a fair point. You said nothing that was outrageous.
Back when Obama was president, if you even mildly questioned him many on the the left considered you to be a racist.
Now Trump is president. If you even mildly question him many on the right considers you to be disloyal.
And that’s a shame, as it shuts down healthy debate.
For all of history, it will be written that the vote to CONVICT President Trump was bi-partisan because of Romney. He is a snake.

It’s worth recalling that Trump tweets always have two audiences:
1. the public
2. the recipient or object of the tweet
These targets are often but not always coincidental. Clearly, this one was directed directly at Romney.
