No firm number has been reported from ESPNs offer to Manning, but all indications point to the network offering big-time money to one of the most famous faces in football.
Marchand reports that Manning may have topped the record 10-year, $140 million deal that CBS gave to Romo at the end of his contract if he were to combine his Monday Night Football salary with his other shows on ESPN.
Manning also hosts ESPN+ shows Peyton Places and Detail, so ESPN was the natural destination if he decided to step into the color commentary role.
Front Office Sports also reported earlier this month that ESPN was preparing to offer Manning a salary somewhere in the range of $18 million to $20 million per year.

Why is this nonsense posted here? Why? I thought this is an American Patriot. Political site. A place where the issues of the day, issues of IMPORTANCE to our NATION were posted and discussed.
Not a site where this irrelevant BS is posted.
Lighten up, Francis.
Wow...get a grip. Don’t get on the thread if you don’t like the subject matter. sheesh.
Contrary to popular opinion, ESPN must be a very profitable enterprise. Apparently their extreme, left-wing ideology hasn’t affected their financial situation.
As the philosopher said, let them that don’t want none, find pleasure in not getting any.
That or someone(s) are willing to fund the station to further push an agenda.
You are a patriot, but you hate capitalism?
Huh?
That’s right! It should be all coronavirus, all the time!
Now you stepped in it.
No one forced you to click on the link. The title is pretty clear it is about sports so if that doesn’t interest you, you can just scroll past it. I do that all the time.
It was posted under Sports /General/ Chat section. Considering they added a Sports specific section should indicate that the PTB don’t mind if people want to discuss sports here.
If you go the the main page you will see on the right side the list under forums - General interest Chat and below that the list of topics. Sports is on that list. Gee I wonder who put that link there.
In the 20 plus years that I have been here as a lurker and a member there has always been threads about sports.
Some of the best threads have been sports related.
