The Rev. Giuseppe Berardelli, 72, refused to take the respirator while in a hospital after finding out the other patient — who was a complete stranger — also needed it, according to the BBC.

I like to think I would do the same, but I guess you never know for sure until that moment arises.

I’m a protestant who believes God has his people in every church. From what I can tell from scripture, this priest will come up in the 1st resurrection. Not the 2nd one. He comes up in the one you want to come up in. It’s all in Revelation.
We’ve been told that no one over 60 gets a respirator in Italy these days, so I’d take this story with a grain of salt.
You didn’t read the story.The Parish bought him his own and he gave it to a young man.
The people in his parish bought it for his use. He gave it away.

You think so? If these parishioners, in some measure, derived their idea of holiness and goodness from this priest’s precepts and example, then they would understand that they and he now had the privilege of being conformed more closely to the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ Our Lord.
