I read other threads here and the Fearpers are claiming millions of deaths. Trump seems to finally be talking about opening things up. Keeping things shut hurts poor families and puts them on welfare, which is what the Democrats want.
It’s a glorified Head Cold.
You are so full of crap, it must be leaking out of your eyes.
No one has claimed any of the stuff you wrote.
Your hysteria makes me nervous.
Someone here claimed millions have died? Post a link please.
Same treatment and outcomes as the flu, but deadlier since Trump allowed governors to declare themselves dictators.
DO NOT wander off in the fearper thread! The panic started oozing out the corners of my screen and almost got my keyboard. BEWARE!!
It’s amazing how frightened these panic pushers are to face this virus head on. We have grown incredibly soft!
“Protect me big government! Do anything! Take away my guns! Take away my right to assembly! Take away my free speech! Take away property rights! Just keep me safe!!!! whimper, whimper”
Are Flubras welcome?
We should probably make this thread useful with a couple of links to supportive arguments though.
I’m neither a Flu bro nor a Fearper....but I do recognize how risk aversion plays into this whole crisis, and how much tougher the population was when disease was more prevalent, people didn’t live as long, people married young and had many children..... And most importantly, when society wasn’t filled with a zillion lawyers threatening lawsuits over every little damn thing
LOL!

I do think you need to call all Flubras as well. There’s a few of us here.
At the risk of being the most clueless guy on FR, what’s a flubro? Thanks
The number of deaths passed 10,000 on the 20th of March. So we are about meeting the "double every 4 to 5 days" estimates when we pass 20,000 later today. Those estimates that have been made for how fast it spreads for several weeks now. They appear to be correct - at least based on the death rate.
It will be interesting to see if the death total hits 40,000 by the 29th of March. (Is the exponential growth happening?) NOTE: These are worldwide numbers, not USA numbers.
Transitioning from the Worldwide to the USA, a good flubro needs to keep these flu statistics handy. Here I've but them in easy-to-clip table format for you.
The average estimated number of deaths from Flu in the USA over the last 9 years.
2010 | 37,000 |
2011 | 12,000 |
2012 | 43,000 |
2013 | 38,000 |
2014 | 51,000 |
2015 | 23,000 |
2016 | 38,000 |
2017 | 61,000 |
2018 | 34,000 |
Total | 337,000 |
Average | 37,444 |
Highest | 61,000 |
Lowest | 12,000 |
Also per CDC reports, Current Number of Deaths, USA: 544
Of course one thing everyone is hoping is that the poster child for this being an abnormal and horrible disease and not "just the flu, bro" is Italy. It was looking so good there for a minute. Two days of declining deaths. But, no more:
BREAKING: Italy's coronavirus death toll rises steeply again with 743 new fatalities
And yeah, a lot of the nightmare scenarios are coming true in Italy:
Italy: Army convoy carries coffins of coronavirus victims out of Bergamo for cremation
It would be nice if we could avoid this in the USA. It's one thing to have granny die, it's another to have the Army seize her body and cremate it.

Flubros and flubras...we will be proven right. I will post this article again tomorrow in day 7 thread.
