My living room looks bigger, now, for some reason, but I didn’t get to go to sleep when I wanted. So here I am... Up in the night...Again.

Good morning.
So how was your birthday celebration, as a whole?
It was a really good day. I had wine and pretzels and Tater Tots, because that’s what I wanted. Vlad and I watched “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” which features Lucius Malfoy looking so gorgeous, and I wrote thank-you notes.
Now it’s a new day, and I should get washed and dressed and make sure all my flower arrangements have plenty of water!

I have cards to write, but I’m too tired to focus. Not to mention being dyslexic.
My very favorite pair of sandals, the ones I’ve had for four years and wear constantly from the first day of warmer weather to the first day of colder weather, finally bit the dust. The vamp came away from the toe piece. (Toe and sole are one piece with a leather vamp.)
I have sneaks, but they don’t fit well, and they make my feet sweat. So I’ll be looking for new sandals, soon.
Bummer about the shoes. I hate when that happens. Then you try to replace them, and the manufacturer no longer makes them!

My cat's favorite toy is a dead (cloth) fish, once long ago impregnated with catnip. He uses it for communication: Fish near the door means "I want out", fish near the food dish means "Look! Empty!", fish near where I'm sitting means "If you don't pay me some attention I will sink my claws into your leg. Gently of course."
Dead fish can be very expressive.
Fascinating! Cats are good at letting the staff know what they want.
I bought some expensive, organic, environmentally-conscious, socially-responsible pet snacks from “Scout and Zoe’s” for my cats, my son’s cat, and my daughter’s dog. The ones I kept are freeze-dried minnows, heads and tails and all.
My cats will eat them if they’re cut in half.
I completed the Thursday WSJ crossword, with some help from Pat and Vlad. Group effort is not cheating, but looking up answers is!
About time to take Vlad and James back to camp, but James asked for safety pins and then wandered off. The church secretary hasn’t called me back about whether Jim my Money Guy left papers for me, but I’ll stop by there anyway and hope for the best.
