A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
W00t!
Tom the Son was by to complete his FAFSA, which he has to complete in order to be reimbursed by his employer for his college tuition. His hair was looking very pretty.
I used to have hair that was nice and thick. Lucky Tom! He can just wash it and let it air dry!
How is he doing these days? He’s been out on his own since what — ? January? Good for him.
Yes, January. He’s doing fine. Plenty of work. He and his roommates are just about breaking even, but they think they’ve found another guy to move in about a month from now.
That would be nice to have another roomie. Maybe they could afford a fast-food once in a while. Something I don’t even do...mostly because the places don’t open until 1030 or 1100.
But I’m glad to hear he’s doing well.
Tom works at Chipotle, so he gets one fast-food meal per shift. He can usually get a meal here, too, and sometimes take home leftovers. He doesn’t seem to mind cooking at home. I invited him for dinner tonight, but he said he was making chicken fried rice.
Chicken fried rice sounds yummy! I might be able to make some...I need to check and see if I have any bacon, first....
Anyway, I’m off to bed. I’ve got the wobblies again, so its time to head thataway.
I’m going to turn on some lectures about historic sites of Britain, with Professor Patrick Allitt, a nerd with a cute little accent.
Today’s 2 hour appointment went OK, although I thought my kidneys were going to explode. But he didn’t get everything and he sees signs of infection (which I feel). So I have to go back tomorrow.
And we’ll have fun, fun, fun ‘till his daddy takes the big drill awayyyyyyyyyyyyy
Oh, unnngh. I still have nightmares sometimes about my wisdom-teeth extraction in 1985.
Oh, unngh.
My wisdom teeth were an absolute nightmare. They all tried to come in periodically in my teens, but in the nine months of my pregnancy they ALL came in. They all also had to be pulled within the next five years, and two required oral surgery.
To say I don’t like the dentist’s chair is an understatement. Novocaine is ineffective and nitrous just makes my eyelids heavy. Anyone who can come out of a dentist’s chair with only a numb mouth and some residual pain is doing good in my book.
Good luck today, ArGee, and I hope everything is resolved. We should all collaborate on a book about dental chair experiences, with a few chapters on moving and bad luck with children. Jus’ sayin’...
I don’t think that would be a best seller. Maybe we should do a murder mystery.
There’s a thought! But who could write it with a typical British surprise ending? Maybe we could invite Moosie to write the ending, since he lives in Midsomer-type country, with all the hedgerows and mysterious little churches... And Bob could add some sci-fi to the mix!
It needs aliens, too!
Good morning. Bill the Son was over yesterday evening to do his tax return. I gave him his and Anoreth’s mail. He says he and Little Kitteh are looking, in a casual way, for a new apartment, but nothing has caught their eye yet.
They plan to get serious about it in August.
Tiny squeeful little floof! The muzzle on that dog is as big as the tiny floof’s head! LOL!
Good morning.
Just in time for me to take a shower. I’m really wishing my sleep patterns would right themselves. I’m tired of being up for several hours on one end of my night or the other.
And the dog’s head is as big as the whole kitten!
Enjoy the shower!
It was enjoyable, of course. Hot and clean.
Now I think I can face the day. Maybe I’ll even go get my knee x-rayed. Maybe. Depends on how I feel by 0700. I may try to take a nap long about 0600...
Favorite Daughter has taken up crocheting again, and this time, she wants to graduate from granny squares. I forwarded a link by a little guy named Jonah who is an absolute whiz at designing things. He started when he was 10, I think. At least that’s when he became famous. Young AND male! Crocheting and now, knitting. I’m in awe, for sure!
Fiber arts were a traditional male occupation in many cultures around the world.
I have to go to Walmart today: we’re almost out of cat food. Also pick James and Vlad up from camp, probably in the 1-ish time frame.
I just went over to check my mail and found an application for AR!! YAY!!
Of course, I have to provide a photocopy of my DL and my SS card, the latter of which I don’t have. So I just applied online for a replacement. Utah didn’t require it because they still had my info from the last times I lived here.
So I’ll spend some time today filling the application out and doing the happy dance while I do it. NOW, I will start packing!
