A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
I think I like that series (and Father Brown) because they’re pretty light-hearted, and not bogged down in the intensity of chasing the murderer. The plots always seem to be “locked room” murders, and yet, the Super Sleuths manage to solve it in a disarmingly humorous way. And then there are the Murdoch Mysteries!
I agree, not too much angst most of the time. And not as many total sick nuts as in Midsomer. The murderers have pretty simple motives, like money. And there’s the pretty Caribbean scenery and the cute accents.
I love the accents!! But I use subtitles because sometimes what I think I hear is not really what I hear. If I live long enough, I think I’d like to visit that island. Set on on Guadaloupe, I think. I could do with a week’s heat, and lots of surf to play in, for sure! :o]
Just check the volcano forecast first!
There was a guy on Midsomer Murders last night with a really pretty accent. The character was a violent criminal in a psychiatric facility, but that’s just details ...
Oh, the card was way late: her birthday was Monday, and it arrived Friday. However, the flowers I ordered, by phone from a florist in The Villages, arrived on Monday.
I’m glad to hear she got the flowers on time! I think I’ve gotten flowers three times in my life. Maybe four. Meh.
Here’s something to make you smile, I think. It’s what happens when one person decides to make a difference.
Choir has practiced, Walmart was visited. I think Naptime is next.
I’ve missed a whole day. How it happened I don’t know. I think it has something to do with the achy joints and chills sections of the relapse. So Imma head to bed. Maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow.
I hope you have a good night.
I hope YOU have a good night and feel much better tomorrow.
All of me is present and accounted for, but whatever that means is yet to be determined. I’ll go take my shower in a bit, after the morphine has begun to work its magic so I can at least move somewhat easier.
I didn’t get to the library yesterday, because I still had one set of “Father Brown” to watch, and I have to watch it in small doses. One disk of that and one of “Endeavour” and presto! Bedtime.
But I got the CDs sorted and put into albums, so there is that. I finally took that load of stuff over to the clubhouse to be donated to the guy I don’t like. He always reeks of cigarettes because he visits the only woman here who still smokes. Anyway, I told Chuck it was to be given with no name and no gender. Period.
So one by one, I’m erasing the tasks on my little white board. Maybe this week, I can get to the filing. I hope. That seems to constitute the biggest mess. Receipts, document copies and in a separate file, knit and crochet patterns.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
May your Mother’s Day be blessed in all that you do to, with and for your mothers, no matter where they are. For those with mothers who have gone Beyond this life, may you feel their presence this day.

Good morning. I’m up. I had a cat on my chest.
“I ketched dis fing and kilt it!”
Good morning.
I’ve been busy and wore my little self out already. The sky is overcast and my body tells me its just the beginning. The bed needs to be made, but I think the maid took the day off.
I have to make a log entry. My symptoms are all over the place. I also have to make some covers for my headphones so the unit doesn’t slip off my head when I’m dictating.
Anyway, I’ll be back in bit...
No church, yet...
I’ll be singing later with Asuncion and Rafaela. It’s quite chilly out this morning. The cats are annoyed.
Wow. It’s not just my symptoms that are all over the place! My brain has decided not to cooperate. :o|
In a way, I’m glad church is suspended for a while because I think it would make the relapse worse if I went.
Sometimes circumstances work out unexpectedly well.
I’m finished on the treadmill, took a shower, ate an apple. Next, I’ll start practicing the psalm for Mass.
I did some Scripture searching (or as the seminary students say, “Scripture chase,”) for about 15 minutes, and here I am. My allergies are kicking my backside (part of the relapse) and every time they get too far out of control, I go get a spoonful of honey. It seems to help a bit, so why not?
Tomorrow, I’ll let Chuck know that I want a limb cut from the mulberry tree. If it gets much longer, it will hit the window when the wind blows. From what he said, I’m guessing he gave what Paddy gave the drum, because they “cleaned” the parking spots for four cars. I told him on Thursday that what was left was from last year. But don’t get me started... I want to be a good mother today!
I hope they will clear the limb. Mulberry trees can be a real mess!
The limbs aren’t the worst of it. The roots are long, thick and tough and they destroy plumbing pipes. This tree is about 15’ from the building, and one of the roots, which is about half above ground, is a good 10 - 12” across. I suspect the plumbing in this place is already affected, and sooner or later, the tree will have to come out. Mulberry trees only belong in vast fields, with no water pipes to destroy.
