Thanks for clarifying. I was a little hazy on that relationship but I didn't bother to research it. Don't judge me! I'm busy trying to get May 1860 ready for posting.

Your photo of Motley is the same one I used for my avi today on Twitter when I posted this letter. So I guessed right.

Well... ahem... ah, I only finally figured it out when I started asking myself, what is a 46 year-old Motley doing writing an almost love-letter to 19 year-old college junior Oliver Wendell Holmes, and how did a 19 year old earn the title Dr.?
It had my head spinning until I finally realized... wait... no, that's impossible, must be something else and, sure enough, it was!

Thank goodness.
