The two drugs that are considered POTENTIALLY useful to fight coronavirus are chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine!!!!!!!

Chloroquine phosphate is not chloroquine! Just as sodium is not sodium chloride!

Damn the a$$holes who know nothing about how substances enter into chemical combination with other substances and lose their properties in doing so.

Suppose someone were to cut up sodium into small pieces and eat them. The sodium would react with the water in the idiot’s mouth to form sodium hydroxide and hydrogen.

Inhaling chlorine would kill the person, if not already dead from the reaction with sodium.

Because of massive stupidity and the intense desire to get rid of Trump, this is being reported deliberately in such a way as to make the ignorant public think that Trump’s drugs will kill!

As pointed out by another FReeper, chloroquine phosphate IS the anti-malarial drug that is being used. Hydroxychloroquine is a less toxic derivative of chloroquine, and it is also being used - though it may be somewhat less effective than chloroquine. Clearly, Reuters was unethical in the way they phrased the headline, and they have a hateful agenda. That being the case, we should respond accurately, and point out that taking a ‘not for human consumption’ product that contains a substance used as medication is not in any way the same as taking the medication.

There are many, many people taking warfarin (Coumadin) as an anticoagulant. That does NOT mean they should go out and buy warfarin-containing rat poison and take this instead.
